JUNE 2025 WRITING PROMPTS

Post by Maureen K Clifford » Sat Jun 07, 2025 10:15 am

Thanks to those who participated in last months writing exercise. As always you excelled. It does seem that our numbers are dwindling and overall the whole site seems to be in a decline, but I suppose as our poets are aging, and some sadly departing, that is not unexpected. For those of us who remain though, we will for the moment just keep on keeping on, and doing our best.

As winter sets in, (I am sure we are all noticing the chillier weather) - for me thoughts of the Brisbane Ekka spring to mind, and the westerlies that always accompany it - so perhaps a winter theme is in order :D

Try these prompts for size - use one or use all - your choice.

Winter winds that whip and whine

Fern frost on windscreens

The crunch of frosted grass

Mother Nature's frigidity

Shorter days and longer nights

a warm blanket on a cold night

Go to it my lovelies

I may not always succeed in making a difference, but I will go to my grave knowing I at least tried.
