H'work for w/e 15.11.21 ....LET'S DANCE

LET'S DANCE .... Maureen Clifford © The #ScribblyBarkPoet

'twas a photo seen on face book of a raindrops disco dance
as they fell upon the footpath - purely a lucky chance
captured that shot forever - synchronized in swing,
two disco dancing droplets - a raindrop and its twin.

It made me sit and ponder how all things in nature dance,
we often see this every day but barely spare a glance
at trees whose limbs are clinging close, long and lithe and lissom
as they dance to the winds music in syncopated rhythm.

Or how Brolga's dance together in the outback of Australia
all decked out and looking sharp in their feathered regalia.
Red bandanas festoon their heads - they bow and shake tail feathers
for no particular reason other than a get together.

Aurora borealis dances - bright green waves of light
shimmer and undulate against the midnight sky at night.
Their music is the solar winds unheard by human ear
but 'cross the earth the Northern lights constantly reappear.

And lovers cling together as they tango thigh to thigh
a dance of passion spawned in brothels out of Uruguay
‘the tango of the compadron’ between consenting males
is now featured in ballroom comps, not now 'beyond the pale'.

And so it seems life calls the tune and we dance to her beat
to watch us dance is insightful, we hear how our hearts speak .
Dancer's seems don't need wings to fly - earth's music fills their soul.
Dance isn't dance - it's magical - it makes our existence whole.

Ah, this is lovely, Maureen. As a big fan of dancing in general, as well as the many ways it is revealed in nature, I can totally appreciate what you're saying here and just love all the beautiful images. I particularly like your two lines about the trees, and also how you sum your topic up so nicely in the final stanza. The photograph is fantastic - I can easily see how it inspired you!

So true that the whole world dances, Maureen. Now why did your poem immediately call to mind the fibonacci sequence??? ;) :)

Ah well done Maureen, great word pictures once again, where one can visualize those twins of nature so easily.

And what an incredible photo that is of the raindrops, amazing.

Cheers
Ron

Hi Maureen

Another original interpretation of the Prompts,
and very cleverly done as well.

Enjoyed that one Maureen.
