Thank you Ron and Catherine. I live next to Greater Bendigo National Park which is in full bloom at the moment hence the inspiration. Not too sure about Haikus as an ongoing interest though. I enjoy the ongoing challenge of rhyme and metre as a form of self-expression.

You have done well David.

I was not familiar with the particular species of wattle - Whirrakee Wattle (Acacia williamsonii) - but it is certainly a lovely wattle and quite rare apparently, growing in just a few areas. Your haiku captures it quite delightfully and nice to think of it being protected by the big old Iron Bark's. I am particularly fond of both of these species of trees so your Haiku certainly resonated with me.

We explore all different types of poetry here from time to time. It does us all good to step outside of our comfort zone on occasions So feel free to join with us. No harsh criticisms or nasty comments here mate - we are very supportive of each other.

I just love the closing line "painting equinox". That is a brilliant metaphor!
