FRESH FRUIT - trái cây tươi ... Maureen Clifford © The #ScribblyBarkPoet

Her English wasn't perfect but she knew
enough to barter for her fresh produce.
She held up two fingers and stated two,
two mangoes for two dollars was her price.
And dragonfruit reposed there red and bright
within the wicker baskets filled with fruit
and every item was a fresh delight
with every one fair priced, with price to suit.
And so we sat upon the golden sand
and feasted on this fresh and simple fare.
Our fruit vendor wandered off goods in hand
along the beach to further sell her wares
baskets balanced evenly on her back;
as we enjoyed our feast in Paradise.

Lovely, Maureen. I see so many of these sellers here in SE Asia and you've captured her perfectly!

Yes well done Maureen, makes one want to get some fresh fruit and find a beach somewhere! (when we're covid free of course! :( )
Cheers
