Homework !4/4/2016 ' The Feather and the Fly'

A last minute rush job Maureen
The Feather and the Fly.
He rests there on a log awhile, next to a trickling brook,
while carefully inspecting there a tiny feathered hook.
The flybox resting on his knee is full of hand tied flies,
so cunningly constructed, they could fool most untrained eyes.
They represent the flylife and the insects found nearby,
though only fur and feather you may think that they could fly.
Long hours spent at the fly-vice and a lifetime on the stream,
has taught a skill that few possess and most can only dream.
A trout is rising in the pool – he deftly casts his fly,
It lands there gently on the brook and drifts towards the lie.
A sip - the fly is taken – then a pause – the fish is on,
he brings it to the net - removes the hook - the trout is gone.
