Éirinn go Brách

They tell me in Cashel they’ve got a big rock
and tell of knights on a stone wall -
Begosh and begorrah’ I tell them myself
ta be sure we have one an’ all.

There’s many a night on a wall I have slept
when the little folk set me ta drinkin’
an’ who gives a fig for whose rock is bigger
a rock is a rock I am t’inkin’.’

Oooh you’re an Orstaylian what would you know
‘tis the blarney stone that you’ve been kissin’.’

No Mate’ I replied , ‘I am Aussie home grown
with diploma in bullcrap and pissin’.’

They tell me I should see Hoare Abbey whilst here
‘tis a wonderful sight for the eyes.
I told them that we’ve whores down in Abbey Road
so I doubted that I’d be surprised.

But one thing that I’ll give those nice Irish folk
who delight in whiskey in tea
They manage to speak in an Irish accent
without the slightest difficulty.

I may not always succeed in making a difference, but I will go to my grave knowing I at least tried.
