Broken

The words began a-flowing
being written and also spoken
Then suddenly the whole thing stopped
- me bloody pen was broken

The computer then was booted
that little hitch was just a token
A poet's mind cannot be stopped
and creative thoughts not always broken

Words were building, verses grew
with rhythm wanting to be spoken
Suddenly the whole thing stopped
- me bloody mouse was broken

The screen went blank but not me mind
though its thoughts could not be spoken
So I went and had a good cold beer
and made a plan that won't get broken

I'll nick meself another pen
me poetic thoughts will be a-woken
Heather's mate might fix me mouse
and me poem might not be broken

Nerelie

Sorry Nerelie I only just got to this - things have been a bit busy here. I had a good laugh when I read it - you have captured the frustration that we have all felt at some time or the other. Seems the more technical we become the greater the frustration. The days of a pencil and pencil sharpener and rubber are long gone although at times I still use them. Handy if sitting in the garden on a lazy day. One thing is for sure if you don't capture those words they disappear over the hills and far away never to be seen again. :( Have lost a few like that.

Enjoyed your poem very much

Cheers

Maureen
