The filly from Gilgandra

Maybe I was being silly when I heard about this filly
with a bloodline that’s to die for (out of ‘Sea Pearls in the Mist’)
but I listened to his jargon when he said she was a bargain
and I stupidly ignored the fact that we were Brahms and List.

Now I should have known much better but I grabbed myself a sweater
chucked the red dog in the trailer, headed down the old coast road.
Even though it was a long shot ‘cause the trailer’s full of dry rot
I was hoping against hope that it would last the distance towed.

Where in blazes is Gilgandra? - He said “Here’s a map I’ll hand ya.,
look it up yerself,” he told me, (reckon that he couldn’t read)
but the problem now got complex ‘cause I’d gone and lost me good specs
and the writing was so tiny that it made me eyeballs bleed.

So we pulled into a hotel, thought we’d rest up for a wee spell,
get a good night’s sleep tonight and hit the road at break of day.
When I woke up in the morning he had scarpered without warning,
took me trailer and the red dog in his haste to get away.

Oh ok Bob, one more, just for you. This'll make your eyes water.

Well he thinks that’s he’s so clever but it’s obvious he’s never
had to tangle with a Leo woman when she has been scorned
and his judgment day is coming he’s about to lose his plumbing
‘cause I’m sharpening the knives and he can take it he’s been warned.

OOOOHHH you've been talking to Heather haven't you.

Why is it that when you girls want to hurt a fella you always go for the family jewels ?

Thanks Leonie you are very talented.

A fun read Leonie. Think he might be related to the guy from Gilgandra who conned me with Sandra.

Thanks folks. I had fun with this one I have to admit. I don't know what we've done to the no doubt lovely little town of Gilgandra. Between Sue and I (at least) we have made it sound like it's full of crooks. :?

.. and Bob, I am innocence personified, sharpening the knives was Heather's idea.

... Well I'm gonna blame her anyway, sorry Heather. ;)
