Maureen! You duffer, put your hearing aid in!

laugh ends in a ffff sound -you use your teeth on your lips to make this sound

chaff ends in a ffff sound

staff ends in a ffff sound

bath ends in a th sound you put your tongue between your teeth to make this sound!

See, it's all to do with the teeth!!! Maybe you don't have your teeth in - that could be the problem!

pppsssttt! Heather,

I think Maureen was making a funny.

and Sue,

To my ear those two pairs do rhyme. What they look like has no bearing, it is the sound that makes the rhyme in this case.

OK Heather I get it - teeth or no teeth. Are you saying they ain't a rhyme???? because ones a th word and the others are fff words - if you say they aren't I think I am going to have to give the whole game away  :o or go for elocution lessons.

Now Bob why are you having problems with feminine rhymes? Girl/twirl - Lady/shady, wimmen/swimmen, chick/flick

Can't see a problem at all

Yay Maureen. ffff and th are NOT rhymes!!! Don't feel bad because I only realised that after I had used them in a poem - (some time ago I hasten to add) and then couldn't find another rhyme so had to leave it :x Totally ruined my rhyming poem but I wasn't changing it for quids...

On that note it might be time to retire for the night.. 15 year old daughter is out - there is a "boy" on the scene. I had hoped it wouldn't happen so soon  So I have to sit up and wait for the midnight chimes for Cinderella to come home.
