Well here are my attempts :)


enchanted by bellbirds trills
morning creeps o’er hills -
Kookaburra laughs

Xanthorea spikes
scarce hidden by green leaves -
blackboy spears
Xanthorea Haiku.JPG
mistletoe suckers -
parasites on old gum trees
steal vitality

blue wrens hop and chirp
brown wives meekly follow
not game to usurp

old man goanna
tongue flicks scenting carrion –
bush undertaker

frilled dragon stands tall
mouth agape to forestall
predators – close call
