MUD PUDDLING
Allan Cropper ©
I like to wiggle my toes in the mud
and bury myself in the sand,
rip off my shirt,
roll about in the dirt,
most people would not understand.
The wet and the cool of the squishiest mud,
the warm of the of the sun and the sand.
Dirt on my skin
oh, just how to begin
to tell you how happy I am.
Yes, I would do all the above if I could,
but there's nothing that feels quite so good
as the ooze as it flows
through the gaps in my toes
when I wiggle my toes in the mud.
So, next when you see it's been raining all week
and the ground is as wet as can be,
Why not hurry around
where there's mud to be found
and come do some mud puddling with me.
