Take Care Wally Wombat

Had the opportunity to perform this with the Rosewood Primary School. They worked on costumes and backdrops
and did a wonderful job.

TAKE CARE WALLY WOMBAT

Now one little Wally wombat loves to roam our Rosewood hills,
he is muscular and furry to keep out the winter chills.
But he likes to sleep all through the day and ventures out at night
and these Hobbits of the Aussie bush are not a common sight.

And poor Wally he has enemies and has to be on guard
from domestic dogs that are let roam and really make life hard.
“Look out Wally there’s some coming now and they have seen you mate!”
So it’s pitter patter to your den before it is too late.

So do take care Wally wombat when you’re venturing about
or your life it will be shortened and of that there is no doubt.
You are such a cute young fellow and we love you Wally dear,
so do watch when you roam through our hills, now, “Wally, do you hear!”

There is danger to from forest fires that happen now and then
still our Wally knows the safest place is deep within his den.
Though at times he upsets landholders with warrens down below
but his kind were here before they came and that’s a fact I know.

But folks when the creeks are rising there is danger to as well
as the flooding leaves young Wally with no home in which to dwell.
Don’t forget those trucks out on the road with logs they have to haul.
Lookout Wally one one coming now! [Stop] whew [Resume] Boy that was a close call.

So now take care Wally wombat when you’re venturing about
Or your life it will be shortened and of that there is no doubt.
You are such a cute young fellow and we love you Wally dear
So do watch when you roam through our hills, now, “Wally, do you hear!”
