My Oath
A man is only as good as his word,
his word should be his glue.
To stick by a bond that is giv'n on oath
is what he ought to do.
Not a ‘tuppence’ I’d give for a scoundrel that
lies his way through life.
His comeuppance he’ll get, the lowly rat
who cheats upon his wife.
