PROUD TO BE AN ‘AUSSIE’

Post by Maureen K Clifford » Sat Jun 07, 2025 10:30 am

A little orphaned brumby foal who was luckily found and rescued and rehomed by Hoofs2010 Brumby Rescue Group in 2024 - went on to become a cheeky and much loved young fella who they named Aussie ... which was fair enough because he was a fair dinkum Aussie brumby, with the bloodlines of heroes in his genes. He will eventually be given the chance to move on to his forever home where he will be loved, and where his history will be valued.

He’s a little aussie battler, a fair dinkum kind of chap
with ears that seem a trifle big for a bloke without a hat
but he’s got a way about him – a rustic rural charm,
and seems the God’s must like him for they’ve kept him safe from harm.

Along the way he’s lost his Mum – could be she has been killed
for its doubtful she would bugger off, by her babe not so thrilled.
Brumby mares make pretty good mothers, when taken overall.
They gently nurture young ones, often to their own downfall.

He’s a curious little fella always sticking his nose in
the wheelbarrow with the droppings or into the big feed bin,
and he loves his pats and scratches and loves showing off his moves
to the folks all quite besotted who live with him now at Hoofs.

He’s a tough as nails small brumby, growing bigger every day
and he hails from Kosciusko where snow tipped mountains hold sway.
He’s survived what life has dished out and he’s fought a fearless fight,
So! We’re proud to say he’s aussie -and know Aussie will be right.
