SENSA YUMA

SENSA YUMA
(By Alanm November 2021)
Ya gotta ‘ave a sensa Yuma, to live way out in the Bush
ya gotta ‘ave a sensa Yuma, to tolerate the city push.
Ya gotta ‘ave a sensa Yuma to put up with Politicians
ya gotta ‘ave a sensa Yuma, to survive their poor descisions.

Ya gotta ‘ave a sensa Yuma, to watch reality television
ya gotta ‘ave a sensa Yuma, to watch re-run old editions.
Ya gotta ‘ave a sensa Yuma, watchin’, ALL ABOUT ME interviewers
ya need more than a sensa Yuma, to tolerate anti-vaxxers

Ya gotta ‘ave a sensa Yuma, when ya’ll standin’ in a que
ya gotta keep ya sensa Yuma when they breathe all over you.
Ya gotta keep ya sensa Yuma when ya’ll updatin’ ya phone
for the fifteenth time this month, wish they’d leave the thing alone.

Ya gotta ‘ave a sensa Yuma, so bad news don’t get ya down
ya gotta ‘ave a sensa Yuma and not carry ‘round a frown.
Ya gotta ‘ave a sensa Yuma, so ya see the good what’s there
ya gotta ‘ave a sensa Yuma, to see around them what don’t care.

If ya lose ya sensa Yuma, then the World might be in peril
ya might wish them all down into Hell, to be taken by the Devil.
Ya sensa Yuma’ll keep ya sane, as the World falls into chaos
on the deck of the Titanic they’ll all be fightin’ over lifeboats.

So keep ya sensa Yuma, even if it’s seen as quirky
ya sensa Yuma is all yours but keep it light and perky.
It’ll only drag ya down if it comes out dark and murky
if begets a laugh then ya’ll know, ya sensa Yuma’s done it’s duty.

Yep, that Yuma's pretty important - along with its twin brother, Common Sense!!

G'day Ross,
When we were packing for a trip up the bush,my old mate, now departed, would always place a 'Sensa Yuma' somewhere on the
equipment list.I try to never leave it out.
Cheers
Alan

Your right Shelley, only having both can help you survive.

This is so, so true, Alan - I'm always saying that, especially lately when there seems such negativity and PC nonsense going on as far as looking to find offence in everything past and present. If we cannot hold onto our common sense, and laugh at things - and indeed ourselves - we are lost!

G'day Maureen,
Yes, we have to keep our Sensa Yuma alive and kicking or we'll finish up in the doldrums of depression the way the world's shaping.
Thanks for your comments and keep 'Laffin'
Cheers Alan

Hi Catherine,
I agree with your sentiments and it’s what prompts me to scribble my
lines. Keep on ‘laffin’ , it’s hard not to.
Cheers Alan
