Homework WE 18/5/20 - No Need to Panic!

Post by Shelley Hansen » Wed May 20, 2020 12:17 pm

I'm really bringing up the rear with this month's prompts! That's what happens when you get involved in big projects around the house - you take your eye off the ball! Sorry Maureen, I'm late (as the white rabbit said), but I'm joining Neville in a "left-field" take on the prompts ...

NO NEED TO PANIC!
(c) Shelley Hansen 20/5/20

There's no need to panic - although it's a strain
to keep the emotions in check in your brain.
Just take a deep breath on this bright, special day
and think of the words you've been longing to say.

Reality check! Are arrangements in place?
Now lower your stress - it will show in your face.
Is Mother looked after? Perhaps she might cry.
Is rain on the cards? Are there clouds in the sky?

Relax! You'll be fine, and you'll look back with mirth ...
it's not like they've asked you to clean up the earth!!
Just follow your heart as you walk down the aisle ...
Your wedding day! Lift up your head, girl ... and SMILE! :D

Hi Shelley

You're right there's no need to panic, just be sensible I reckon.
I've been busy in the veggie patch, it's looking pretty good as well!
during the early days my biggest problem was remembering what day it was,
as each day seemed a copy of the last one - or am I just showing my age?

You make a good point or two there Shelley - well done.

Terry

A truly delightful poem and different take on these prompts, Shelley. Really enjoyed this x

Thanks so much Terry and Catherine. Happily, I can say that this poem is not autobiographical - I really enjoyed my wedding day, but I've known others who have allowed panic to take over!

As for social isolation - well, I agree with you Terry, it has given us the chance to embark on different projects. I've actually quite enjoyed that side of it - and am still doing so on this Friday - um, Tuesday - no, Thursday! ;)

Cheers

Don't worry about it I've been running late for months and still am - been a bit busy on brumby groups and other things here in the Village.

Like the use you've made of the prompts - a bit different which is good for a change, and the wedding day couldn't have been too stressful with only 3 verses  I'd be thinking 20 or so would be warranted in real terms if the stories one hears are true. or the dramas portrayed on TV No wonder we have runaway brides.

Glad you are keeping busy thanks to Covid 19 - it is certainly garnering some interesting solutions thats for sure.

Good on you Shelley that is really good, brought a smile to me ( although I've never been a bride  ) I think it is great that you have observed a moment of life and brought out the little drama we know so well.

Thanks so much Maureen and Neville.

No, I can't imagine you as a bride, Neville - I don't think the bouquet of aspidistras would match your complexion!!
