H/work week ending 17.2.20 - A BRAND NEW DAY

A BRAND NEW DAY .... Maureen Clifford © The #ScribblyBarkPoet

The poetry of sound is heard when communing with nature
take time to listen to it, take a moment from your day
to know yourself and others, take a moment to ponder,
to take a cleansing breath before you head off on your way.

You're standing in the paddock, your own deep blue sky cathedral,
or perhaps you're on a beach with just the sky, a tree and man.
Or in a busy city or a small suburban garden
doesn't matter where, just chill a while, and take on board 'I am'.

Close your eyes, breath deep and listen, hear the sweet song of the skylarks
and the caroling of magpies , and the storm birds sad lament.
Hear and feel the breezes whisper, feather light across your cheek
and ponder on immortality, for life is heaven sent.

And if whilst meditating, you feel the salt tears forming,
just let them flow, their cleansing will carry all cares away.
Release the angst and anger, let go the hurts and worries
the poetry of sound has opened up a brand new day.

A brand new day for loving, a brand new day for laughing,
a brand new day to take on board the wonders of the world.
Untouched, pristine, ephemeral - given to us once only -
choose wisely how you spend it as its wonders are unfurled.

Wise words indeed, Maureen!

I think someone once said, "Live each day as if it is your first ... and your last."

Good philosophy here!

There are some amazing moments aren't there Maureen. My favourite is along the river in the evening with the ducks and the plovers calling. Good on you Maureen, reminding us to be still and listen.
