HOMEWORK PROMPTS FOR WEEK ENDING 14.10.19

Post by Maureen K Clifford » Mon Sep 23, 2019 4:54 pm

Despite my efforts with what I believed were 'hard' prompts, yet again our poets proved that they can turn their hand effortlessly to writing about anything, and they did it so well. I am wondering how many of the poems that have been written here are going to pop up as winners at the Ipswich Poetry Feast. Sadly none of mine  but I fully anticipate that some might

With luck I might get to catch up with a few of you there, despite not being part of a winning team as it were.

However, I have chosen (stolen) some lines from well known poets for the prompts here. Not sure if that is plagiarism as I have modified them a little, but it will be interesting to see what our ABPA poets can do with them

Their faces turn towards the West

the black scrub is silent and grim

a creek rolled muddily

a garland of tender pinks and purples

a faded letter and a curl of golden hair

there's a flying hurry scurry

Away you go my lovelies - weave your magic

I may not always succeed in making a difference, but I will go to my grave knowing I at least tried.
