Snow and drought

Post by Stephen Whiteside » Fri Aug 31, 2018 7:30 am

I have been feeling a little uncomfortable lately posting poems about the relatively frivolous subjects of snow and skiing while I know other ABPA members are having to live through the agony of drought. The reality is, though, that this year is a bumper snow season, and that subject itself is now in the news, such as this article on the ABC website:

....and this is Australia.

Somewhere there is floods, fire, famine, provision, snow, bumper crop and lean.
All at the same time!

Don't beat yourself up Stephen..

True indeed!

Someone once said it was a land of "drought and flooding rains" - and it is everything else as well!

Drought brings hardship but so does incessant cold - and our southern states have had plenty of that this winter!
