When the Wisteria Blooms again ©

In the year of nineteen twenty,… the year that I was born.
My father planted it, .. it was so small and tiny just a little twig,
Just like me he used to say,…. but I grew just like that little twig.
That twig first flowered when I turned five
Its bloom now cascaded down,…. it was a marvel to behold,
Like a bunch of little snap dragons…. in a lovely shade of blue,
Its not as pretty as you, he used to say when he sat me on his knee.
But alas it’s also just like you, he’d say, ..you both ramble every where
That tree, ..or creeper should you call it so still holds its pride of place
And every year it flowers in masses hanging blue,
Where the birds and bees they fly around, …. oh how they love it so
Its shade is now in great demand, ..in the summer every year.
Well years have come and gone and there are many more I hope.
Both it and I, have weathers storms but I, ..much more than it
So I’ll sit here in its cool cool shade,… and savour all its charms,
Its twisted trunk, ..its twinning limbs,… its flowers hanging down.
Now mum and dad have long since gone,.. to that churchyard over there
Where I hope that they can see,… that tree,… with its flowers everywhere
Now I’m not as young as I used to be, …you see,.. I’m eighty five
But Mum and Dad they named me,… Wister,… after Wisteria that little tree that grew

I like that Bill. You could have put it in the poetry section, I'll let you ;)
