Sounds like a great event Stephen. It's interesting that even as we discuss bringing bush/folk poetry up to date, there is still room to revisit the old classics such as The Man from Ironbark.

The Man From Ironbark is a classic, well at least an Australian classic and it and similar poems are at the heart of the bush poetry movement.

Hope you enjoyed your time with the Gosford Bush Poets Neville. It was great to see you come along and we enjoyed your poetry.

Marty, The Man From Ironbark, The Geebung Polo Club, Clancy of the Overflow etcetera are still well received by the young if the proper introduction is made to each poem. Bit hard for the young to think of a cut throat razor and such without an explanation but I know from experience they still love the poems.
