Strength of mind, endurance, listen, watch and learn,
pass the torch from those who’ve gone before.
Try to make a difference, leave the world a better place,
can all be lost in a heart beat, shock and awe.

Sunrise is so peaceful, the air is fresh and clean,
a lazy breeze is drifting through the dawn.
Corellas, wake in numbers, rising up as one,
peace lost in a heart beat, shock and awe.

Climate change is gripping, the country’s tinder dry,
every thing that can burn, was and is.
Live stock, lives, town ships, and all things in between,
blackened in a heart beat, shock and awe.

Covid causing chaos, pandemic under way,
travel locked and guarded around the world.
Vaccinate the masses, the only safe way out,
millions lost in a heart beat, shock and awe.

Putin given notice, sanctions are in place,
a million people flee to safer ground.
Ukrain under fire, lives and cities lost,
wiped out in a heart beat, shock and awe.

East Coast has gone under, a weather bomb has struck,
Rains and floods of biblical recordings.
Loss of life and memories, can never be replaced,
swept away in a heart beat, shock and awe.

The wickie and the spinner have kept and spun their last,
respect and sadness posted around the world.
Legends, mates and larrikin’s, icons, of the past,
both lost in a heart beat, shock and awe.
