The Curse of Being Male

Post by Stephen Whiteside » Wed Feb 01, 2017 6:12 pm

The Curse of Being Male

It’s a firm insistent feeling
That informs you that your ceiling
Has been reached. Decisive action is required.
You never could deny it.
No, you needn’t even try it,
For it simply is the way that you’ve been wired.

You will have to leave your bedding.
All your cosiness you’re shedding
As you take a few quick steps across the floor.
You are learning, slowly learning,
There is not a way of turning
From the cruel, ruthless grip of Nature’s Law.

It makes you mad and madder.
There’s a pressure on your bladder
That rouses you from deep within your dreams.
A discomfort skulking, creeping,
That ejects you from your sleeping
While your indignation bubbles, pops and steams.

Your bladder is your master.
As the years pass ever faster,
It is futile to resist, to rant or rail.
Your prostate just gets bigger.
Gentle ladies, please don’t snigger.
It’s the rotten, wretched curse of being male.

Suck it up Princess  :o  - as a female and aging I have been getting up 2 or 3 times a night to pee for years  and let me tell you - you don't know you're alive until you do that one morning, step on a squeaky chicken and nearly have a heart attack on the spot to go with it - there was no going back to sleep after that little episode either

I've found this getting old is a bit over rated.

Such is life.

Look on the bright side, Stephen - while you are roaming about the house 'twixt bedroom and bathroom, you can write some poetry!!! Don't the best inspirations come in the WEE small hours??? ;)
