Violets.
I had posted this poem before but when I tried to access it from my list under the 'Index of Members Poems' it is missing a link.... So I am posting it again. When I did a Google search it came up under the stone the Crows comp.
can't have that!
Violets
Zondrae King (Corrimal)
Violets live by my garden path
They have no house, they have no hearth.
Their home is right there where they sit
and they don't mind it; not one bit.
Between the rocks, in cracks, they wedge,
or sometimes tumble o'er a ledge.
They don't ask too much out of life
She has no husband; he no wife.
They stand in silence every day
to add some beauty to our way.
They dress alike in mauve and white
and settle, nestled for the night.
Then when next morning has begun
they turn their faces to the sun.
There isn't much they ask of us
They need no fanfare, need no fuss.
They only hope that now and then
we stop to look and comprehend
There's nothing that we need to say
just maybe smile and walk away.
