She tells me I look dashing in a pair of Stubbies shorts
and when I wear a singlet, she starts getting naughty thoughts.
My beer gut sends her wild, she really likes my hairy back,
she gets all hot and sweaty at the sight of my bum crack.
I know what you are thinking, that I must be quite a catch
and if I wasn’t taken, you might be my perfect match.
But still, I just have eyes for her, I love her thunder thighs
and everything about my love is extra-oversize
for when she wanders down the road, she has to wear a sign.
She’s so glad that I am hers, I’m glad that she is mine.
Whenever I embrace her, she just takes my breath away,
I can’t describe the way I feel, I don’t know what to say.
But I do know that I’ll never ever dream of other sorts
when she tells me I look dashing in a pair of Stubbies shorts

So you've got nice legs as well Peely - be still my heart

Cheers

Maureen

ps - Could see this done up as an Ad for stubbies - something along the line of the old Chesty bond singlet ads - a nice macho man posing in his stubbies with his RM boots and Akubra - oh my blood runs hot at the thought.

Can't seem to find one like that anywhere and yet the tacky kind with the thongs abound.

G'day John,

Well I guess I asked for that!. My comments to MadMick about the Aussie Bloke not knowing anything about romance.. Thanks for snapping me back into the real world.

Now I promise I will do something about my 'wide load' if you just put your shirt back on. (ask your Mum, she'll tell you. You'll get sunburnt and then..trouble later in life. Are you listening to your 'Aunty?')

G'day Maureen

I am glad that you got a laugh out of the poem. I thought back to an evening in Ballarat when I was out at one of the hotels and a bird told me that I looked dashing. I was wearing a pair of Stubbies shorts at the time (only a bit more dressy (and no I don't mean looking in some ways like a skirt) than what the old style ones were) and the idea flowed from there. The opening line has been stuck in my head for some time.

G'day Zondrae

I thought I needed to balance things out a bit. Us blokes can't be all soppy and romantic all the time.

John I'm a bit worried about the kind of people you are mixing with.

G'day Heather

Most people that I mix with aren't that bad. Those poets though... Nah they're not that bad either.
