Thanks worddancer,
for dredging this up. It was posted some time back. I haven't been watching the birds lately. I have been diverted to music and learning to play Ukulele. Yesterday I decided to drop some other distraction and focus again. Seeing your post this morning has now made me firm in this resolve. For this I thank you. I have read your poem about the single parent. (EMU). I wonder if there are other birds, beside the Penguin and Emu, where the male does the incubating?
Great to have you on the site and I look forward to reading more of your work.

Re: A New Beginning
Hi Zondrae, Thank you for reading of Emund's prowess, and there are more creatures where the male excels in parenthood. The newest rendition of this is under the topic of Rhythms of the Ocean. Natures' Single Dads, The Leafy Sea Dragon.
Then there is the Bush Turkey, as well as the Penguin and the Cassowary. Sparse habitats seem to be common ground.
I will post again, but I need to read your words and then join in your collaboration poetry, it reads like everyone is having a ball.
