I must be thick!

When I open my photos they come up as thumbnals but I can't see anywhere any 'tools'. If I 'R' click on the file number I get a drop down that says
search in Google, Spotlight, then it say cut, copy, paste. etc but nothing about 'adjust size' or 'Other'
again I give up and am going to have lunch.

Zondrae YOU are NOT thick, you are probably not the only one who needs this information.

Here is a more direct path TO PREVIEW your files:

1/ OPEN your picture folder.

2/ DOUBLE CLICK on ON the picture OR the name YOU WANT

3/ Your Marvelous Mac should open the picture on the desktop

4/ AT THE TOP OF THE SCREEN you SHOULD SEE; (not on the window frame around the picture)

The Apple sign / PREVIEW / FILE / EDIT / VIEW / Go / TOOLS / BOOKMARKS / WINDOW / HELP

apple, iphoto, file, edit, photos, events, share, view, window, help

At a guess I would select EDIT !!!!! what harm can you do?

if it is wrong just do not save the changes ?

OK Zondrae, you have a software program called ‘iPhotos’ and it made itself ‘YOUR DEFAULT program for viewing your picture files when it was installed.
(This program is linked to the websites through GOOGLE to make it easy to link to FACEBOOK etc.)

“SPOTLIGHT” IS YOUR Finder program that shows you where and what programs you have and their content.
If you go to your APPLICATIONS folder you should see what applications are installed for viewing picture files

In my APPLICATIONS Folder I have a basic program called PREVIEW ( a standard Apple App) for my DEFAULT.
You may have this basic program too, but the new software has replaced it’s default position.

So, look at THE HEADINGS:

APPLE, PREVIEW, FILE, EDIT, VIEW, Go, TOOLS, BOOKMARKS, WINDOW, HELP,
APPLE IPHOTO, FILE, EDIT, PHOTOS, EVENTS, SHARE, VIEW, WINDOW HELP

EDIT this usually refers to the file placing in your system i.e. folders when you sort pictures AND SOMETIMES HAS SIZE CHANGING CAPABILITIES

VIEW this usually refers to how you wish to see it displayed on your computer.

TOOLS on the Mac usually refers to changing the picture’s size /colour,(hue) /cropping / red-eyes etc

If you want to SHARE photos you may want them printed, emailed, posted in a smaller size than they are now.
This is also for web pages like FACEBOOK, so it might work for UPLOADING TO ABPA.

OPEN SHARE and see what it does for you.

Open EDIT and see if that does the job
