Woods Point

Post by Stephen Whiteside » Tue May 28, 2013 9:58 pm

I went on a drive with my son to Woods Point last Sunday. It's an old mining settlement, and one of the most remote towns in Victoria. Felt like stepping back in time...

Motor Spirit is just an old fashioned term for petrol - used up until the 1930's I think, whilst COR is an acronym for Commonwealth Oil Refinery, which was an Australian company taken over by BP in the 50's.

Love the pic, Stephen ;)

WOW indeed Stephen - isn't that fabulous - and it appears it is still used judging by the modern petrol pump outside.

GIYF - getting in your face   in a nice way. I wanted to see and know more of this place and here is a beaut link

I may not always succeed in making a difference, but I will go to my grave knowing I at least tried.

Lots of "times" in that picture Stephen. Looks like Thomas was a bit cold standing there.
