Thanks Bill,

I'm the scruffy looking bloke with the beret.

in the first photo I'm sitting next to the bloke with the hardhat (forgot his name) who was part of a group doing a film and book about Coober Pedy they used our mine for a lot of it and had the 'Ponderosa sign made for that purpose.

In the second photo we are selling a parcel of opal to a dealer in old fashioned dugout.
The bloke in the white hardhat is Gunther my long time partner (he still lives in Coober Pedy and we're still mates) the bloke in the dark hardhat is John who worked occasionally with us. Once again that's me in between them wearing the beret The other bloke is Tommy the opal buyer.

The poem 'The Christmas Gift' was set in my early days at Coober Pedy when I worked with a Swiss bloke named Hans, the chap we shared Christmas with and who read the cards was Gunther, who later became my longtime partner.

Cheers ad thanks once again Bill and Bob as well by the sounds of it.

Terry
