Very nice Manfred. The drought stricken grass looks a tad better too.

Manfred can you come and fix my grass too? Oh, and while you're at it there are fences need fixing. Maybe you could touch up the paint on the house too! :)

G'day all,

Grafton's streets are just breathtaking ... but.. around Wollongong we also have the added joy of the Illawarra Flame Trees which bloom their fiery red blossom at the same time as the Jacaranda. There are many gardens where these two beauties are side by side and intertwine their limbs. Great inspiring stuff. Natures splendour at it's best. I have been meaning to get the camera out.. I had better do it today or I'll miss it again this year.

..Thanks for the prod.

Yes, Grafton is the setting (I believe) for that great Cold Chisel song Flame Trees. In my opinion probably one of the greatest Australian songs ever written. Lyricist Don Walker grew up there - (he was born in Ayr, Nth Qld though).

Up here we've got the odd specimen of Illawarra Flame growing in the coastal rainforests - they stand out! Also the non-native Poinciana Tree is in flower at the minute which are very red and showy. Don't know how far south they get? I should get a picture to post.
