Clair de Lune

Post by Neville Briggs » Sun May 06, 2012 10:21 pm

This evening, I took this photo of the rising full moon, over the farm just behind my place.
Scientists tell us that the moon is at the closest distance to the earth for sixty years.

But this section is for pictures of poetry events you say.
Indeed it is.

The moon has been an inspiration for great poetry, great music and great art. The ancients were so in awe of its beauty that they were inclined to worship the moon as a god.
The rising of the full moon is one of nature's greatest sights and truly a magnificent poetic event. I reckon. ;)

That it is Neville and I couldn't agree with you more - the moon appears so often over the ages in written poetry and love songs. - take it out and you would have a gaping void

Love your photo - I have one very similar - lookee here - we must be like minded
