Reckon you could do it better though Marty.

They always treat them as a monologue.

 that's fantastic Marty. I agree with Martboy, you could do better. The ABC commentator voice hasn't quite got the full flavour of the tropical troppo.

The strength of this poem is all the vivid, concrete images, the speaker doing things, action !which makes the language come alive. ... Great !!

Yeah old Kezza needs a bit of work on his inflection, but can't diss him, he gave it a good crack. I guess I'll have to 'walk the walk' meself now and dig something appropriate up.

Cheers, Marty

So when do you get time to write poetry? This is full of ar-tistic flair and I see the missus gets a cuddle, you get a beer, the kids get a bath and the dog- what does he get??? checked for ticks - oh well he got a look in

Great yarn but agree with the others - would have been good to hear you do it yourself - what did your other slaves die from??

Cheers

Maureen

Loved it the first time I read it; still love it. Kerry warmed up towards the end I thought. Still rather hear Marty recite it.
