Post by Shelley Hansen » Wed Nov 16, 2016 4:12 pm

2016 REVIEW OF ABPA COMPETITION PACKAGE -- Notice from the ABPA Committee.

For all those who have an interest in any aspect of competition.

As you probably know, in October there was a review of the ABPA Competition Package and this resulted in some changes to the ABPA Guidelines, Procedures, Assessment sheets and Entry Form suggestions for both Performance and Written competitions. Following post review feedback some further minor adjustments have been made to the Performance Bush Poetry and Yarn Spinning Assessment sheets.

So that all concerned with the organisation of, judging of or participation in competitions, are in tune with the 2016 upgrades, everyone is urged to re-familiarise themselves with all the relevant documents and helpful information in the current ABPA Competition package. www.abpa.org.au click on 'Competitions'. Should you have any queries concerning this package you can contact the ABPA Secretary, Rhonda Tallnash <secretary@abpa.org.au>or the Review Sub-Committee Secretary, Brenda Joy <promotions@abpa.org.au>

Thanks for posting this Shelley. The review itself did also come up with some options with respect to written competitions and a change to the Written Bush Poetry Assessment Sheet. These changes would be of particular interest to both judges of and entrants in written competition.

As Shelley says, it is certainly recommended that all concerned with competitions keep up to date with the current ABPA Competition Package. An annual review such as we have just had, ensures that this package evolves in accord with the needs and findings of those who use it. Input from all members is always sought, examined and taken into account.

Brenda :)
