Sad indeed, I'll always remember Frank for his encouragement on his bush poetry website in the early days. R.I.P. Frank.

Re: THE PASSING OF FRANK DANIEL
All of those connected with the Australian bush poetry community and indeed all Australians who value their heritage are very much poorer today because of the passing of Frank Daniel.
Frank was one of the main people responsible for the resurgence of bush poetry in this country and most of us who consider ourselves "bush poets" owe him a great debt. He was responsible for organizing many competitions, poets breakfasts, poetry concerts and events and through his efforts he provided many of us with the opportunity to not only perform, but more importantly to learn.
Frank not only had an encyclopedic knowledge of Australian poetry, but also an unbelievable knowledge regarding those who wrote, performed or simply supported bush poetry.
Vale a true Australian, Frank Daniel.

Re: THE PASSING OF FRANK DANIEL
It's always tough to watch men who have such a zest for life struggle with physical setbacks such as Frank did towards the end of his life.
He did his best to the end to continue to enjoy his love of bush verse.
I shared those early years with Frank when bush poetry had a resurgence and sadly he now joins a growing number of those who pioneered the modern day Association.
Recently I compiled a book on my years of entertaining and it rekindled a lot of great memories. Frank certainly would have had his share as well.
My condolences to all of Frank's family and friends.
