KIDDIES ENTERTAINMENT

It was dark, the driver didn't see her;
now she's broken and lifeless in the gutter
rich red dark blood spreading
from her head to the roadway.
I look for something to cover
the indignity of public death sprawl
from the crowd of the merely curious.
A mother comes with two small children.
" Go away " I say " This is not for children ".
She glares at me and jeers,
what a nasty man
to deny the children their natural curiosity.
