Post by Bob Pacey » Thu Jul 04, 2013 4:19 pm

You can take this anywhere you want.

I read today that one of the new pollies Ed Husic took his oath on the Koran !!!!!

Bloody hell mate !

Some might call me a racist, some might call me a slob
but I'm gonna have my bloody say and open up me gob.
If you come to our country it's at our terms and rules
so toe the line, speak engilsh and don't treat us like fools.

Ed's a Muslim, Bob. Get over it. Dont be a jingoistic pain.
You're being xenophobic (and don't say "please explain?" )

Life’s far too short to worry over language, race and such
at times it causes angst but I confess not really much.
We must treat each other with respect, manners and dignity -
all come into this world naked – seems we’re all the same, to me.

Exactly why so many people do not speak their mind
I respect everyone's opinion so please respond in kind.
Call me what you will but I love this great south land
But bad things always happen when good folk fail make a stand.

But what’s to make a stand about? He swore a sacred oath
on the Koran – that’s his Bible. Have we not the room for both?
Is his oath perhaps less binding ‘cause in English it’s not spoke?
Our religions may be different but he’s not a lesser bloke?

Ed Husic is a Muslim, Isaac Iaacs was a Jew,
we've Catholics and Protestants and those whose Age is New.
As long as they are honest and they do their Aussie best,
they're welcome in this country where diversity is blest.
