OK lets get rolling

I was going to suggest since the spark was lit by Terry that he would kick it off but he has gone fishing so I have moved him to the end of the list to allow him time to gather his thoughts and his catch, and put Heather near the end to allow her time to ponder - tried to mix it up - boy girl boy girl - put the 3M's together as that could be a great collaborative title if we do good and since Zondrae seems hot to trot -away you go Zondrae and the rest of us will follow on in named order

If anyone else want to participate just add your name to the end of the list and copy and paste it and it would be a good idea IMO as you add your verse that the next person to write copies and pastes what has been written previously (poem) so we don't have to keep scrolling up and down.

Do your best folks, keep it tight, try to stick with the rythm and rhyme and lets see where we end up

Marty suggested
Around the camp fire" or "while the billy boils" or something like that
So lets use both - Title - The Camp Fire Billy Boils

OK, short of time and not too inspired just at this minute but I'll begin. someone can cut and paste and fix up a title etc later.

The ground was not too hard at least
the rocks were far between.
He made his camp above the creek
and now needed caffeine.

(or you can make it just two lines if it suits better.)

Title - The Camp Fire Billy Boils

The ground was not too hard at least
the rocks were far between.
He made his camp above the creek
and now needed caffeine.
Z.K.
He was an old school bushman type
He'd travelled far and wide
His old ute was his fixed abode
His blue dog sat inside
M.B.

He smelt the tang of cypress smoke
loved it’s astringent smell
and knew that all was right with him
and with his world as well.

But then his blue dog sat up straight
with telltale twitching jowl.
That cypress tang extinguished by
the dingo's mournful howl.

Back earlier than expected,
I see we're up and running and going well, good show all. Not sure of the rules yet but will put a stanza in just in case, it can always be erased. -Terry

Again blue growls at wild dog howls
that echo through the night.
Then settles by the fire once more
still ready for a fight.

Times they have gone
And years have gone too
The swaggies now gone
Will the drovers go too
