Bob says it’s Post a Poem Week,
but hey, that’s pretty tough!
It leaves me up that well-known creek;
I’ll have to think of stuff
that rhymes and does that metre thing,
yet has a tale to tell,
with metaphors and words that sing…
and…flamin’ bloody hell!
My brain is fried before I start,
so, strewth, I’m sorry, mate,
forgive me if I don’t take part…
I must procrastinate.

OK Bobbo, I can't afford the bad luck, so here's a quick one
Happiness
It's this feeling that's within you
and it's one you can't suppress,
you're heart, it feels like bursting
'cause it's full of happiness.
Everybody feels it,
others more than some,
it's a natural emotion
and it's felt by everyone.

Sometimes there seems no reason,
sometimes it just appears,
sometimes you can't explain it
'cause your happy, but there's tears.
It can come at any time if day,
the hours never wrong,
you'll feel your spirit lifting
and your heart will sing a song.

You see it on the faces,
of little girls and boys,
especially at Christmas,
when Santa brings them toys.
The feeling's quiet addictive,
so if you're feeling down,
just find someone who's happy
they'll help remove that frown.

Midwinter Moon

The sun was slowly setting when I crossed the northern plains
the air was damp and chilly as there’d been good winter rains
a line of clouds was forming across the western skies
I stretched my back and turned my head, could not believe my eyes
the midwinter moon was rising and lighting up the ground
rich as a first prize mango she floated full and round

This midwinter moon was magic as all who saw her sure did know
I wished I had my camera, others rang the radio
the announcer asked for pictures she couldn’t leave her microphone
and I could hardly look away from that fruity mango tone
miles disappeared beneath my wheels the midwinter moon rose high
backlit by sparkling diamonds in our wintry southern sky

Then the glowing mango faded, she turned pale and lit the night
and I drove on in wonder at this midwinter’s magic sight.

I hope everyone who was outside early Friday night also saw the 'mango' ....

Saw the space station go across the sky at about 6 pm. Magical.

Was hopeful to see it undock.

No not at all the news report said the undocking could be seen with the naked eye.

The movement across the sky was swift and a beautiful bright glow. Had to stop my performance to let all the parkies watch it.

Another good crew tonight around 60 people it never ceases to amaze me how many turn out when you mention FREE even if it is a sausage sizzle. Raised quite a bt for the Mcgrath Foundation around $ 350.00

Cheers Bob
