Significant dates in the life of C. J. Dennis: The women

Post by Stephen Whiteside » Thu Oct 16, 2014 7:04 am

I have posted an entry on my blog concerning the dates of birth and death of the three most important women in the life of C. J. Dennis.

It can be found here:

Are you sure it was tough being the wife of C.J. Dennis if he was small and thin and she was big and powerful. :)

Of course you are right, Neville. How could there possibly be any problems being married to a man who was physically smaller than you?

 just being facetious.

They seem to have had a big struggle with money issues. Tough in those days, not much social welfare around.

So was I.

Yes, and Dennis managed to make matters a whole lot worse all by himself. First he over-compensated for his years of poverty by 'living the high life', then a series of bad business decisions took him right back to the old familiar poverty all over again.
