Not written with poetry in mind but I think it's a good fit and I really like the advice at the end of the quote.

Yes Heather writing makes me happy, but try as I might I can't remember much about the other.
Bob I did once write a poem for a female friend when I was of an age to do embarrassing things like that, but it didn't work.
