Clearing Sale - 'Kurrumbede' Gunnedah.

'kurrumbede' Clearing Sale.


a clearing sale will be held at 'Kurrumbede', Gunnedah. on the 6th august 2011 at 9.30am.
ANTIQUES and COLLECTABLES - hay baler, dray, single furrow plough, horse drawn farming, quantity of horse harness, side saddle tree, bullock yolks and bows, grinding stones,blacksmith bellows, horse shoeing gear, old blacksmith tools, dray harness, crosscut saws, milk seperator, butter churn, kerosene stove and lanterns, icebox, creamcans, antique wheel barrow, fire cooking gear, meat safes, hand push mowers, assorted collectables and many other items.

Oh I used to love clearance sales but my heart always went out to the owners when it was a forced sale and everything right down to the china was going under the hammer - not so many bargains then especially if you knew the people concerned because you felt honour bound to buy to help out and obligated to pay the highest price you could afford. Don't think those days are behind us either.

Bill Kearns has a good poem about an auction like that Maureen. He performed it at Bundaberg and it was very clever. Buy the book people!

Hi Duncan,
Gunnedah happens to be my hometown.
Might be a good weekend to visit Dad.

An uncle of mine has a place close by -
it could be a museum all it's own!
Things lying everywhere past their use by date
by about 70 years!
