Yeah, whether he's gone with cattle or not . . . I reckon we all underestimate the amount of work he put into maintaining our forum - so here's lookin' up ya old adress, mate. Thanks for everything . . you were always quick off the mark with a private email explaining whatever I was asking about - don't make a stranger of yourself

Andy stuck his hand up and built, from scratch, the ABPA Web-site then added the Forum. The ABPA Forum has connected our community online and given poets the ability to share, compare and critique their works from across the country.

Andy has developed and maintained the ABPA site, generously in his own time while continuing his studies in IT. His studies are concluding and I know we all wish him well in the pursuit of his chosen profession.

(To anyone who may not know. I've been in hospital!)

Andy, You have been a very important part of the development of many of the poets who are currently writing and reciting (and may I add winning) in the ABPA arena. You have provided for several years, the meeting place where not only friendships but also knowledge has been shared. It is because of your website that many of us have met. It has led several of us on adventure travelling and given us the courage to enter competitions. For all of these and many I can't call to mind at the moment we owe you a vote of thanks.

Personally, I have been able to ask, and receive, many vital snippets of guidance in writing (better) bush poetry. Without these contacts and the daily online chit chat my life would have much poorer.

Thank you ANDY SCHNALLE

Vic, thank you for starting this thread.

Andy - a huge thank you for all your work over the years. It was great to have the opportunity to meet you in Tamworth last year, and hope that I meet up again with you one day.

I wrote this poem back in 2008 to post on the forum, and the sentiments are still true today.

Thanks to Andy

To Andy, our administrator, let’s all give a cheer
for setting up a forum for us poets far and near.
It’s great to be a part of such a special family
that posting on his forum has enabled us to be.

It gives us all a platform to enhance the skills we hold
so we may share the stories that our hearts insist be told.
It introduces us to friends who share a common trait;
who aren’t averse to sparking off ingenious debate.

The poems written here, we know, are all original;
our daily dose of rhyming verse is quite medicinal
for we can have a heartfelt laugh; perhaps a little cry –
there’s always something new to read whenever we drop by.

So Andy, here’s our heartfelt thanks for giving up your time
to see we have a special place to play around with rhyme.
And maybe in the future we will hear a poet say
“My origins I trace back to the site you built today!”
What goes around, comes around.

Heather

“My origins I trace back to the site you built today!”

Lovely poem Irene. For me that line is so very true. This forum and the tutorials were what got me writing. So thanks Andy and the other poets who contribute.

Heather :)
