Those Who Dare - homework 15/6/2020

It's wet, wild, and windy here, so what better way to amuse myself than with a bit of homework!
Those Who Dare
Where the wedgetails drift across the sky with feathers tipped with gold,
as the early sun shines on them is a sight to now behold.
Though the world may be in lockdown in the cities and each town,
there’s still freedom out there waiting in the outback dry and brown.
There’s no need for social distance in the open space outback,
and the pressure is released then once you start upon the track.
Here the emu’s group together round each creaking station mill,
and all life seems back to normal in the early morning chill.
So the only challenge waiting to be met upon the way
maybe where to pitch your tent, or just how long you wish to stay?
For a timeless land awaits you far from hassles noise and rush,
and the rattle of the trollies in the usual shopping crush.
Though the road ahead is daunting with a long way still to go.
there is nothing wrong with dreaming to ward off this latest blow.
Just remember now the Aussie way when danger threatens here,
“let’s just sort this mongrel out, but first we’ll have another beer.”
