homework 14/10/19 A CLASS ACT

Post by Neville Briggs » Sat Sep 28, 2019 11:16 am

A CLASS ACT

Under the influence
of royalist admiration
my wife induced me to
the Downton Abbey cinemation.
Some popcorn was enjoyed
until hypnotic somnolence
blurred out those affectations.

Sounds like the popcorn was the best part, Neville!

Some friends of ours donned period costume for the occasion - I'm wondering if you see yourself as the butler, the lord - or perhaps the king??? ;)

Cheers

Cheers Shelley.

The popcorn was certainly the best part. I was hoping that the phrase "hypnotic somnolence" would have given away the extent of my enchantment with the British class pretensions.
The only good bit was actor David Haig's appearance ( the Kings butler who gets locked in his room) a great actor who did wonderful comedy stuff with Rowan Atkinson in The Thin Blue Line.

well you made good use of the prompt even if you didn't like the show  and I suppose the popcorn was an added bonus.

I am a Downton Abbey fan I confess and I loved it, but then I do have pommie origins
