Homework W/E October 23: Feral Cheryl

Post by David Campbell » Tue Oct 10, 2017 7:10 pm

Some odd prompts here, Maureen, so it's not surprising if you get rather strange responses!

Feral Cheryl

When the bogan from the bush met Feral Cheryl
at a midnight feast he didn’t see the peril
he was facing from a bird who hoped to bury
yet another husband on the Styx’s ferry.

But he panicked pretty quickly when she chased him
over tumbling rocks and river scree, then faced him,
shouting “You’re my Hasselhoff, the new Knight Rider
in my web, for I’m an urban redback spider!”

“You can’t stem the flow of venom in my passion,
let me fold you in my arms and then I’ll fashion
a cocoon of love that’s way beyond believing,
till you die, and once again I’m lonely, grieving.”

But the bogan from the bush cried “I’m not giving
you the chance, I’d really like to go on living.”
So he fled the city with “I’ll take my chances
on the sheilas at our Bandywallop dances!”

Just love it, David!

The visual picture it conjures up is almost a case of “too much information!” :D

Love the Styx’s Ferry! It’s been quite a while since the story of old Charon and his macabre transportation has crossed my orbit.

Cheers

Love it - brilliant use of the prompts and some interesting lines as Shelley has already pointed out - as for Feral Cheryl - she was a bonzer sheila, I knew her well ....maybe not the same female you wrote about but one very similar
