Homework w/e 11.9.17 - CLIMATIC

Post by Maureen K Clifford » Sun Aug 27, 2017 1:42 pm

Climatic ... Maureen Clifford © The #ScribblyBark Poet

Winter is disappearing fast,
though truth to tell it lingered not
this year, the days were balmy, hot -
though nights were cold as the upshot
of snow down south at last.

In Queensland snakes are on the move
serpents silently slithering,
or coiled in sunlight, bodies warming
some stretched full length, ground conforming -
scales sinuous and smooth.

Tall grass trees, shiver, sway and shake
and shadows cast on frosty ground
have spears erect - we look around
for warriors, but none are found.
Such sights our legends make.

And nature's moods are quite diverse -
she titillates, teases and tricks;
five seasons in a day, she ticks
a challenge. And if one predicts
' change' to the Universe

there's those who'll taunt and try to say
that climate change is just a farce
their logic appears somewhat sparse...
until it kicks them up the arse
and then perhaps they'll pray.

Very innovative, Maureen! I like the abbba rhyme scheme - and of course, the alliteration :D

Cheers

An important message, Maureen, and particularly timely given the disastrous flooding in South Asia and Texas.
