MY CINQUAINS
© John Peel 29/1/2015

Pointless…
A waste of time…
Why be bothered with it?
It’s not proper bush poetry –
Cinquain.

Why be
inflicted with
Adelaide Crapsey’s crap?
It isn’t really poetry –
Cinquain!

Cinquain!

Cinquain!

Cinquain!

Sounds Like a bullet bouncing off the brickwork ?

Well you did one John  It's a bit like algebra I never knew how to do that either but I always had a go at it - it is about extending our horizons and just a challenge to get people thinking and writing, but you knew that  and you were interested enough to Google it I see. I purposely didn't use Adelaide Crapsey's work as an example even though she seems to be held up as the expert on this form of poetry.

I reckon your Cinquain is pretty good to by the way. Well done

Hi Maureen

No google used in this case, just a good memory and a quick check in a poetry book to see that I had the correct person (Adelaide Crapsey) as the originator of the Cinquain. As the inventor of the form, she should have a good knowledge of it.

Bob and Allan

Definitely not a fan of the Cinquain
