Homework Wallangarra

Post by Bob Pacey » Wed Apr 10, 2013 8:55 am

It is sitting on the border there glistening in the sun
if there ever was a battle ground then this place is the one.
Cockroaches on one side and the other canetoads standing tall
is this where it was born the greatest rivalry of all ?

I've had some disagreements with Marty, but on his comment, apparently about state football game rivalries, I agree completely. ;) :D

Bob, you say this may have been the birthplace of our greatest sport? Which AFL teams originated there, out of interest?

Neville We are asked in homework to interperate what the scene or words conjure up for us ? The border of New South Wales and Queensland in there for all to see and that is what it does for me.

Keats I can never understand why AFL players have the ball and then kick it away ? How much better is it to bash the other team and take theirs ?

Stick it to them H they deserve all they get.

Rugby League legend Billy Moore lived in Wallangarra as a child. He is best known for playing for the North Sydney Bears and the Queensland State of Origin team. He was born in Tenterfield, New South Wales as this was the closest hospital...so you see Bob's poem was totally pertinent
