we 26 06 Shared Experience

Post by Wendy Seddon » Mon Jun 19, 2017 8:09 am

Sorry, no rhyme came to me for this, but the prompts rang true.

Amidst a plethora of poets I took my place,
hoping I had reached an appropriate standard.
Public confidence was high,
that they would be entertained.
As I step up to the mike, I light a candle in my mind
in honour of my Dad, reflecting the luminous colour of
his love and pride.
Illuminated bridges connect the myriad memories
of my childhood and beyond.

Good on you Wendy - that is a fine piece IMO although 'reached' would work better - might want to fix that typo up. Why not give this one a shot in the Ipswich Poetry Feast Open Age section - http://www.ipswichpoetryfeast.com.au/

Well done, Wendy!

I love this word picture and alliteration:
Illuminated bridges connect the myriad memories
of my childhood and beyond.
Cheers
