Think of it like a car Mate.

Brighten up the chrome wherever it is a bit dull (GIVE IT A PUNCH LINE OR A TWIST IN THE TAIL).
Check that all the screws (PUNCTUATION) are in the right spots - missing ones might cause things to drop off and tighten up any loose ones for the same reason.
Make sure the tank is full and that it is heading in the right direction,(IS THE STORY LINE CLEAR) wandering off or taking short cuts never saves time.
Touch up any stone chips (SPELLING, NON RHYMES, SIGHT RHYMES, METRE),
Cut out any surface rust (THOSE BACK TO FRONT THINGIES NEVILLE DON'T LIKE)
and then when you have done all the basics and it is pretty schmick ( 9 OUT OF 10)
Give it coat of wax to make it SHINE (10 OUT OF 10)

there you go Marty - bloke talk
